This leading label assesses the entire area on themes such as energy, well-being, synergy and climate adaptation. This makes it possible to use both alternating and direct current, which is more efficient and means less energy loss. Together with Liander, we are building a hybrid energy network that is ready for the future.<\/p>\n At LAB, we are testing the PowerParking concept, where parking lots are roofed with solar panels, equipped with charging stations and bi-directional charging. Cars thus become part of the energy grid and help absorb peaks. The knowledge gained comes from a pilot in Dronten.<\/p>\n We are working with Liander on a scalable energy system that balances generation, storage and consumption locally. This solution reduces grid pressure AND prepares the area for the electrification of mobility, from trucks to electric flying. LAB is part of a consortium that submitted a Regiodeal for electric flight.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”rgba(150,195,60,0.15)” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”RGBA(255,255,255,0)” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”RGBA(255,255,255,0)” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n LAB won the 2024 Vitens Award for Sustainable Water Use Business<\/a> and was awarded at the Circular Innovation Summit 2025 for best chain collaboration in the Netherlands<\/a>.<\/p>\n LAB features a closed, circular water system. Wastewater is treated locally and reused – as rinse water, fire water or process water. This system saves thousands of cubic meters of drinking water and energy each year. WaterLab Flevoland grew into a Fieldlab where knowledge is shared and innovations are further developed.<\/p>\n Our innovative vacuum sewage system not only saves water, but also enables circular firefighting water. We literally give nature space between buildings and enhance biodiversity.
