The Lelystad Farmer

The Lelystad Farmer is a collaboration between more than 100 agricultural businesses from the region and has been a regular cooperation partner of Lelystad Airport Businesspark since 2017. Together we are creating a sustainable and nurturing area, with flower borders along the lots and harvest festivals for the neighborhood. But it goes beyond maintenance: young talent also grows here.

Young people cultivate, learn and connect

On a 14-acre LAB plot, 14 young farmers from the region grow their own organic crops. They do everything themselves: from sowing to harvesting, and from marketing to administration. With support from their parents, local growers and their own guts, they run a real farm. During the annual Harvest Day, they let residents harvest their own vegetables because learning about food, soil and cultivation is key.
