THE LELYSTAD FARMER FOUNDATION
LELYSTAD AIRPORT BUSINESS PARK IS DEVELOPING THE AREA IN COOPERATION WITH THE LELYSTAD FARMER FOUNDATION (Stichting De Lelystadse Boer). THE LELYSTAD FARMER FOUNDATION MAINTAINS THIS AREA AND ENSURES THAT THE PLOTS STILL AVAILABLE ON THE PROPERTY, ARE KEPT PRESENTABLE WITH FLOWER BORDERS, AMONG OTHER THINGS. FURTHERMORE, JOINT AREA ACTIVITIES ARE ORGANIZED, SUCH AS THE ANNUAL PUBLIC HARVEST DAY.
LOCAL COOPERATION
Since in 2017, the cooperation agreement between Lelystad Airport Business Park (LAB) and The Lelystad Farmer Foundation occurred; the farmers have maintained much of the business park’s reserved land. It is a sustainable and cost-effective solution and directly represents a broadening of the farmers’ earning model.
The Lelystad Farmer Foundation
The Lelystad Farmer Foundation was established on November 1 2016, and has grown to a club of 70 farmers around Lelystad Airport. ‘Maintaining good circumstances for good farming’ is the foundation’s mission. To achieve this, the foundation positions itself as a valued and equal cooperation partner for parties around Lelystad Airport and as an essential partner in achieving (sustainability) objectives of these parties.
The foundation believes that opportunities can be seized with the airport, the business park, the municipality, the province, and other stakeholders to realize beautiful projects together.
HARVEST DAY
Every fall, the Lelystad Farmer Foundation organizes the Lelystad Harvest Day at Lelystad Airport Business Park, offering an excellent opportunity for residents to experience harvesting crops.
